march 9th, 2010

Hello,
Exciting news today, The Portal Opener has had its first book review, featured in the West Australian newspaper! The review:

If I were a teenager, I would absolutely love this book. Still, I thought it was really, really good: kind of Quantum Leap meets Twilight meets Harlequin romance meets Twilight Zone. Freya, a beautiful and brilliant 18-year-old student, is bored with regular life. Then she figures out how to travel between "realms", in one of which is her perfectly linked soul. There's true love, romance, fantasy, adventure, mysticism and ethical morality. Brown has an angle into teenage thinking — Freya isn't that into her real parents in the Realm of the Living — with which young adult readers are sure to connect. And it's the first in a trilogy with a cliffhanger ending. Bring on book two.

        A great review! Smile.
        Thanks guys,
                              Hannah.

nOvember 9th, 2009

Hello,
I’ve received several wonderful emails from readers who have contacted me after finishing The Portal Opener, and I wanted to share one with you:

“I finished your book today. Honestly, could not put it down, it certainly has a Twilight-esque element there that gives you that "gotta know more" feeling. Really a perfect time to release this book, considering the societal flocking to stories of true, passionate love.
The concept of the portals and the spirituality of the afterlife and souls is truly very comforting for a reader, it’s almost as though you look forward to the book as escapism because you know there's really nothing to be afraid of, if you connect with your soul.
It’s very exciting, I’m certainly anticipating the next instalment.”
        — Grace Buntine.
             Melbourne.

Thank you Grace! This made me smile, what a lovely email to read first thing on a Monday morning. Thank you for the feedback everyone, it has been very encouraging!
        More soon,
                           Hannah.

Updates...
April 6th, 2011

Hi There,

                More soon,

                                   Hannah.

I’m delighted to share with you an interview I did back in December 2009. In it I talk about how the idea for The Portal Opener came to me, and what the writing, editing and initial publishing experience was like for me.

The hosts of this interview are my dear friends at the Crimson Circle, whom I joined that day via the magic of Skype. The CC is a global affiliation of spiritual humans. The courses I have done with the CC have inspired me in my personal life and in my artistic endeavours, too.

Please enjoy :)
